SRV RACING PIGEON CLUB

Business Meeting Minutes 07-15-09

 

Members in attendance: Larry, Bruce N, Bruce H, Steve, Terry, Jake, Tom, Roger, Schiess family, and new members Ray Sacket and Doug Hughes.

Absent were Jon and new member Kent Misseldine.

Minutes of previous Meeting were read and approved. Minutes will be posted on the website.

 

Financial Report – Members were given a printed copy of their club accounts

Bank Account $2,756.91              $950.00 of that is from Futurity fees – most of which will be paid to winners of futurity. 6 metal crates were sold to Beaver. They are sending a check this week. 

 

Approved paying Bruce for paint used on crates $100. Club will purchase 50 electronic bands for each member who flies Young Birds this fall. Club is also to purchase a GPS clock for the Benzing Club Unit. The club will also purchase pop for the fridge and stock the fridge with pop requested. Requested to add: Root Beer, Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Tom Coletti reported on the AU mid year Board Meeting – new bands – new rule on small clubs.

 

Awards for Old Birds were given out including Diplomas and a most improved Flyer certificate.

 

Kent Misseldine - Ray Sackett – Doug Hughes were voted in as new members. GPS measurements need to be taken on Jake, Kent, and Ray for this fall. Tom was given permission to visit Ray’s loft along with Larry to take his coordinates.

 

The Futurity will run as a separate race. List breeders’ initials on race sheet in place of club initials. Do not submit to AU 

 

YB race schedule was modified and approved – 20 bird limit on A race and open limit on B. – Added an A High Point Loft Award. See race schedule info posted on website.  

 

YB Race fee – Club member volunteers will drive the birds and get paid .68¢ per mile driven. The cost of the proposed schedule will be $1533.40. Race fee depends on number of flyers. Race fee will probably be around $160. Fees must be paid one week before first race in order to determine final cost.

 

The club is ordering the following bands for young bird flyers – to be paid by club if the member flies young birds this fall.

No bands will be registered (coupled) on the first shipping night except corrections/errors. The members will bring their birds to one of two evenings scheduled for registering the week before the first shipping night. The club authorized Tom to register the bands of three lofts near him. These clocks will then be downloaded into the club computer the night of the first shipping. 

 

The club will release Wyoming training birds from the club trailer when possible.

 

The club authorized Holland to begin negotiations with the Montana, N. Idaho, and E. Washington clubs on a Western Open race for 2010.

 

Reminder to check clocks at least one week before first race in case you have problems and need to order parts. First race counts as a club race – no test race.
